Contemporary workplaces are no longer designed around desks. They are designed around the way people work and collaborate.
The design of Selene CC's headquarters in Thessaloniki emerged from a close reading of the organisation itself. As a Regional Coordination Centre supporting the secure operation of electricity transmission networks across Southeast Europe, Selene CC relies on precision, concentration and constant communication. Rather than imposing a single workplace model, the project creates distinct environments that respond to different modes of work.
The everyday workspace is conceived as a continuous, light-filled landscape where open workstations, collaborative settings and informal meeting areas are seamlessly connected. In contrast, the control room adopts a more focused and immersive character. A darker palette, controlled lighting and a strong acoustic strategy shape an environment designed for sustained concentration and critical operations.
Despite their different atmospheres, the spaces share a consistent architectural language. Acoustic surfaces, continuous lines of light and a restrained material palette recur throughout the project with varying intensity. Selene CC's signature magenta, drawn directly from the company's visual identity, is introduced selectively—not as decoration, but as a spatial extension of the brand, marking places of interaction, exchange and collective work.
The project approaches the workplace as a tool rather than an image. Architecture adapts to different levels of focus, communication and responsibility while maintaining a coherent identity throughout the working environment.
Here, architecture doesn't ask to be noticed. It simply creates the conditions for people to do their best work.
